An unexpectedly brilliant, beautiful and offbeat paradise in village Shiva….at a safe distance from Kasauli…and at an even more safe distance from Shimla 🙂
A location….perfectly fit for shooting a Yash Chopra song, yet completely rustic and peaceful! Reaching this place is going to be half the adventure in itself…considering it is a lone bungalow built on top of a hill!
A bungalow…where every detail sings about the love and passion with which it was thought and then created
An owner– who would inspire you with her thought process, life stories, and her fitness!
A kitchen– that invites you to play, experiment and forget yourself
Food…that makes you wonder how home-cooked meal can taste so different yet yummy
A room…with a view that you will not stop clicking pictures and posting on Insta
And finally…2 dogs….who are as loving as they look fierce!
Perfect setting for a short 3-4 day solo trip (or a couple trip).
Sitback and just do nothing….or talk….or share stories….or read a book…do anything…with a hot cuppa or a glass of wine!
If you are game for some light/medium activity- the owner would be more than happy to take you on short treks around the place (highly recommended):
- soak in the mountains and nature
- breathe in the forests and deciduous trees
- stand for 5min and observe the village activities
If, still by chance, your ever-changing mood makes you feel a little lonely….venture out to Kasauli (30-40 min away by local transport).
Bottomline- this is a perfect place to leave everything behind and just be in the moment!
Note: This is my experience from June2019, had found this place on Airbnb. However, not sure if this beautiful place is still open for guests. So if you are able to find it…great! Else there are more such properties near Kasauli…try them…
